Is water filtration useful and why do I need a filter cartridge for it?

Definitely. Depending on the region you live in, your tap water may contain too much lime, chlorine or heavy metals such as lead and copper. Filtering removes or reduces these undesirable substances precisely. So this is exactly what you need filter cartridges for, because they are the heart of every water filter.

The patented filter cartridges from BWT reduce the limescale content of your water and thus offer efficient protection for your kitchen appliances, especially in regions with a high incidence of hard water. However, the revolutionary BWT filters not only act as limescale filters, but also enrich your local drinking water with valuable minerals such as magnesium, zinc or silicate. The result is always the same: fresh, filtered and mineralised water with a unique taste.

Which BWT filter cartridges are available to buy?

Currently you can choose between three different types of filter cartridges from our online shop: Cartridges for your water filter jug, your tap filter and for your water dispenser. Depending on which filter you need cartridges for, different filter technologies are available.

How often do I have to change the cartridge of my water filter?

This question cannot be answered in a general way. If you use a filter jug, we recommend that you change the filter cartridge every four weeks or after filtering 120 litres of water.

With a tap filter or a water dispenser, the replacement interval depends mainly on the filter capacity of the cartridge used.

Cartridges for water filter taps are available with filter capacities from 600 to 5,000 litres; cartridges for drinking water dispensers with capacities from 1,600 to 8,000 litres. Regardless of whether it is a water filter for the tap or a practical water dispenser - we advise you to change the filter cartridge every six months in any case.
