Description
BWT's penguin water filter jug impresses with its attractive design and optimal ergonomic handling. The package includes a Magnesium Mineralized filter cartridge that strengthens your body's defences, especially during the cold season.
Easy handling
Penguin is dishwasher-safe (except for the lid with electronic change indicator). Thanks to the convenient filling flap, it can be effortlessly filled with water and without splashing. Due to its design, the water filter jug fits into any standard refrigerator door and thus always provides ideal cooling.
By the way: The "Easy-Control" electronic change indicator exactly counts the time of operating.
Avoid disposable plastic bottles and use regional tap water
By using your local tap water in combination with BWT's filter cartridges, you can reduce plastic waste enormously. Plastic waste can be avoided with every sip. In the process, the environment is being protected several times: not only does the amount of waste shrink, the CO2 footprint is reduced as well, as transport routes for bottled water are eliminated.

The name BWT stands for quality from Austria. That is why all our filter cartridges are produced in Mondsee. There, you will find a state-of-the-art production facility that is subject to continuous quality controls. The filter systems are produced in Italy and meet the highest standards in terms of materials and workmanship.
Model A
The Easy-Control counts the number of fillings and the duration of use exactly and reminds you to change the filter cartridge by flashing the display.
Please note that the Easy-Control displays the number of fillings (the volume of the funnel varies depending on the BWT table water filter system) and not how many litres of water have been filtered.
However, the filter cartridge should be changed after four weeks at the latest, even if the capacity of the filter cartridge - i.e. the number of fillings - has not yet been reached. The flashing of the Easy-Control indicator tells you this.
Model B
The "Easy-Control" counts the usage time (28 days) and reminds you to change the filter cartridge by flashing the indicator.
Commissioning
After the first start-up of the table water filter, the change indicator flashes. Press and hold the push button for three seconds. The display then automatically sets itself to 100% and the "Easy-Control" is now ready for use.
Counting function
After the first seven days of use, the first bar on the display goes out - this means there is still 75% of the usage time left. After another 14 days, the second bar goes out - half the power has been used. If the third bar disappears after 21 days, 25% power is still available.
Changing the filter cartridge
After 28 days, the maximum usage time has been reached. The indicator starts flashing. It is now necessary to change the filter cartridge. After inserting the new filter cartridge, please press the push button for 3 seconds. The counter then automatically sets itself to 100%.
Model C
With the manual change indicator, the date for the next filter cartridge change can be set manually. The filter cartridge should be changed after four weeks at the latest.
The manual change indicator consists of two rotating rings. The upper ring indicates the day, the lower ring the month.
The date for changing the filter cartridge can be set by turning the rings so that the month and day of the change are facing up.
No, neither the table water filter nor the filter cartridges are made of plastics that release plasticisers such as BPA into the water. This is strictly monitored through migration tests by independent institutes.
The table water filter is made of SAN and ABS. PP and PPS are used to manufacture the filter cartridges.
No, the BWT filter cartridge is not designed to filter fluoride from the water or to reduce the amount of fluoride.
We will replace the defective part completely (e.g. the lid) within the scope of the legal warranty of 2 years and send the replacement part postage paid to the end user.

The service life of the filter cartridge varies depending on the place of use, as the water is not the same everywhere. The capacity of the filter cartridge depends on the hardness of the water. The harder the water, the sooner the filter cartridge is exhausted.

The substances indicated, e.g. lead and copper, which are reduced by the filter, are not present in all drinking water. The filter cartridges meet the microbiological requirements for water filters according to DIN 10521. The requirements according to DIN 10521 for chlorine, lead and copper retention are also met.
If stored properly, original BWT filter cartridges can be stored for several years. Proper storage means:
- At temperatures between 1°C and 40°C.
- The filter cartridges should always be stored in the original packaging foil until the filter cartridge change.
- The filter cartridges should be stored in a cool, dry place and protected from sunlight.
Our filter granulate consists of a carefully balanced mixture of activated carbon and ion exchangers. Thanks to its large surface structure, the activated carbon binds taste-impairing substances such as chlorine and chlorine compounds. The ion exchangers absorb lime-forming substances and heavy metals such as lead and copper and thus remove them from the filtered water.
In addition, the BWT filter granulate is equipped with the patented magnesium technology, which releases magnesium ions into the filtered water in exchange for calcium ions. This lowers the pH value less than with conventional table water filters. Better taste of the water and the food and drinks prepared with it are the result.
We generally recommend leaving the lid with the "Easy-Control" function in the lid insert and cleaning it by hand, as the "Easy-Control" is not dishwasher safe.
Our production facilities in Austria and Germany are aligned with the strict ISO guidelines and the hygiene regulations of the HACCP concept and are checked several times by independent auditors. The food quality of the products is monitored by the independent TÜV Rheinland/LGA. In order to meet the highest hygiene requirements, our filter cartridges are sterilised and a small amount of silver is added (in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organisation WHO). In this way, we create a consistently high level of quality. This is the only way to ensure that the handling of the sensitive product drinking water always meets the highest hygiene standards.
