BWT 5 Micron Impurity Filter Cartridge
Advantages
The BWT PP05 filter cartridge is an extruded polypropylene sleeve compatible with most impurity filters on the market.
What sets this cartridge apart is its 5-micron filtration precision: it effectively retains the smallest particles, providing purer filtered water.
The 5-micron cartridge is used in various filtration systems:
- In a multi-bowl impurity filter, it will be installed as the final stage after a 25 or 20-micron wound cartridge and/or a screen.
- It will also be used in pre-filtration of a scale prevention or activated carbon cartridge to extend their lifespan.
- In some drinking water equipment, such as the BWT Aquacalcium osmosis system or the BWT Triplex station, the PP05 cartridge enhances sediment filtration. There is also a dedicated pre-filter pack for this device.
Maintenance
Generally, the 5-micron filter cartridge should be replaced every 6 months. However, its fine membrane makes it more susceptible to clogging and sediment accumulation. It is therefore recommended to change it more frequently if you notice a pressure drop at your faucet or if the cartridge turns brown.
