Together, they raised more than €84,000 to support the construction of new drinking water wells in Africa through the b.waterMISSION, BWT’s well-building initiative. Held over a period of around one month, participants around the world completed a symbolic distance of 6 kilometers – either individually or as part of organized runs hosted by BWT subsidiaries and partner companies. The distance represents the average walk many people, especially women and girls in rural Africa, have to make every day to collect clean drinking water.
The Best Water Run was launched as part of World Water Day and has grown into a global movement for clean water. With every step and every shared story, the initiative raises awareness for the global water crisis and helps create lasting impact.
Since the first b.waterMISSION well was built in 2019, almost 83,000 people in Africa have gained access to clean drinking water within 150 meters of their homes.
